Program Spotlight: Summer 2017 Puffins Sampling Tour

This past summer Hype! had partnered with Post Consumer Brands to promote Barbara’s Puffins cereal by offering peanut butter Puffins cereal samples. Barbara’s products are all Non-GMO Project Verified and uses 100% recycled materials and earth-friendly inks in their cereal boxes making it a healthy product that tastes great! The overall goal of this activation was to educate consumers on the enjoyment factor of the product. The Brand Ambassadors were able to meet the goal by directly communicating with the target consumer and engaging them in fun activities such as using a custom Puffins themed spin wheel to win branded prizes, which created a memorable brand sampling opportunity!

 

As for staff, this sampling tour included a local Market Manager and 2-3 Brand Ambassadors per event. The role of the Market Manager was to drive the custom branded step van, transport and manage all collateral and samples to event locations, and also to set up & breakdown. The role of the Brand Ambassadors was to generate excitement around the experience, encouraging consumer participation and trial by engaging, entertaining, and interacting with consumers.

 

The tour made its way across the country, targeting two different markets- Seattle and Boston. The events were either permission based or guerilla-style. Within the two markets we found one similar outcome, people love Puffins!
