Last month, the Green Mountain State got its very first (and smallest I’ve ever been in) Target store! And though it may be a smaller store location, the lead up to the opening and launch day was quite grand!! In partnership with creative, experiential agency- MKG, Hype locked in a local Burlington, Vermont Brand Ambassador Team. The team spent the month of October spreading the word in the greater Burlington community that Target was coming! Events leading up to the grand store opening included: a fun, educational day at the ECHO Center- Burlington’s premier science education center on the coast of Lake Champlain, a relaxing escape on UVM’s campus for the local college students, and a super-fun, family day at the Tree Farm Recreational Facility.
At the first ever Vermont Target’s grand opening there was a ribbon cutting ceremony, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream truck, a photo op with the one-and-only Bullseye dog, and plenty of free Target giveaways! Being that all of the activations were really community focused, it was absolutely crucial to have the right brand ambassadors onsite. All of Hype’s brand ambassadors were local to Burlington and had some type of personal involvement in the community. Overall, the month-long program was a great success! As you walked around the popular Church St. area you could see people with their Target premium items from reusable tote bags to discretely branded bandanas!
