In a world of dating apps and online dating, it is becoming more and more apparent that there are no standards when it comes to finding love and tying the knot. And there is no better example of this than Lifetime Network’s Married at First Sight show. The reality series features 6 individuals that enter into a legally binding marriage with a stranger. As MAFS entered its seventh and most dramatic season, they wanted to generate buzz and drive viewership for the Season 7 premiere with a coast to coast celebration of marriage.
In partnership with Civic Entertainment Group, the stunt activated in 7 different markets surprising and delighting couples on their way to get married! Hype’s brand ambassador teams in Boston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Miami, and Dallas intercepted couples on their way to the courthouse offering the chance to have the costs of their marriage license paid for in celebration of the new season opener.
With Dallas being the home of the 7th season, the brand ambassador teams created a bigger splash in that market. After couples were treated to their “free wedding” they were treated again with mini wedding cakes, giveaways, a band, first dance lessons and a professional photographer!
We can only imagine what it was like to surprise and delight couples as they were approached by the brand ambassadors onsite but from what we heard from our staff, it was an extremely heart-warming day! These types of experiences are ones that truly extend beyond the onsite engagement, and hey- isn’t that what experiential is all about?
