Avocados From Mexico #EatLively College Campus Mobile Sampling Tour

For the past 3 years Hype! has partnered with IMW Agency in support of the Avocados From Mexico Eat Lively Tour. This cross-country food truck tour stopped at college campuses providing free avocado-based samples and generating fun and educational experiences for attendees! The tour jazzed up avocado recipes with partner integrations of TABASCO and The Egg Board. In addition to the 3 yummy menu items, exciting giveaways and fitness activities took place on each campus!

This Spring’s 7-week college tour took the team from Georgetown University all the way to University of Missouri- Kansas City while stopping at 14 schools and 9 states in its path! The tour team’s main objective was to build awareness, reinforce Avocados From Mexico messaging and generate lively and memorable engagement with the brand. With 2 branded vehicles onsite- an Airstream food truck with a vending machine flair and a TukTuk, and additional branded footprint items (pop-up tent, electric scooter, feather flags, etc.) the Eat Lively tour was sure to create a crowd on campus! The “Avo-Matic” Airstream offered a self-serving touch screen ordering system- making a unique experience for campus attendees. After placing an order, the touch screen displayed a fun “Avo-trivia IQ test” to pass the time while the kitchen staff inside whipped up the premium samples. When the avo-items were ready, the box below the screen would light and the participants were delighted with a vending-style service.


The tour team who truly brought this experience to life consisted of a tour manager, food truck manager, kitchen manager, and kitchen assistant. Finding staff that not only fit the requirements of the position, but truly embody the AFM brand is crucial to successfully activating this tour. And while the avo-toasts, avo-wraps and TAVOs (halved avocados) won the hearts of students, Hype’s high-energy Emcee encouraged students to take on fitness challenges, share the experience on social media using the #EatLively hashtag and snap photos using the AFM branded filters.

This tour had all the ingredients it needed to make a truly impactful experience for their consumers! Having just the right people delivering the right message is what Hype! is all about.  Consumers walked away with not only a delicious FREE sample but also a memorable brand experience lasting long after the activation!
