#TalentTipTuesday – Super Bowl Staff Travel Tips

12 days until kick off for Super Bowl LIII!! Who do you think will be walking away as the new Super Bowl champs, the Los Angeles Rams or the New England Patriots?!

This is an exciting year for us, not only because this will be Hype’s fifth consecutive year traveling out to the Super Bowl (not to mention the Patriots third consecutive year) but because we will have a member from both our East Coast and West Coast offices on the ground in Atlanta!  Although Garrett isn’t a Ram’s fan, how much better can it get? Reps for both the Rams and Patriots, it’s like we have our very own match up within Hype!

While our team won’t forget the bitter cold temps from last year’s Super Bowl in Minnesota, we are ready and anxiously waiting to head down to Atlanta where all the action will be!  As we start to pack our bags and prep our teams, we wanted to share a few tips to help you prepare for your travels.

WHAT TO PACK

Our local team has let us know it has been a rainy winter in Atlanta- and if you’ve been checking the weather app, it doesn’t look like it’s changing anytime soon. Be sure to pack your rain jackets and umbrellas along with some layers. It won’t be nearly as cold as last year’s frigid temps, with temperatures varying between 30-60 degrees. More importantly, don’t forget your game day attire whether you’re sporting Rams or Pats gear!

AIRPORT NAVIGATION

Thankfully, ride sharing apps can be used for picking up at the airport with the lot conveniently located close by to the terminal. BUT don’t forget to check with the hotel you’re staying at, as they sometimes offer a free shuttle to and from the airport!

FAN FUN

While most fans will only be tuning in on Sunday for the big game, the 8 days prior to the Super Bowl is a giant experiential marketing frenzy.  Each year, Super Bowl LIVE transforms the respective city into a fan village and this year, it will be Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.  During the day, there will be chances to meet NFL players at the Verizon Experience, the opportunity to compete in a nacho making competition at the Tostito’s Cantina, or enjoy a cold one at Bud Light’s Biergarten!  After the sun sets, there will be concerts each night on the Verizon Up Stage. You can take a sneak peek at performing artists and brand experiences HERE. The Super Bowl Experience driven by Hyundai is a ticketed event, however the Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon is free to the public!

The Super Bowl Experience is an interactive experience for fans of all ages. Kids and adults have the opportunity to take photos with the Vince Lombardi trophy, see all 52 Super Bowl rings, as well as train like an NFL player with cone drills, 40-Yard dash competition and passing drills! Hours can be found HERE.

GAME DAY

Headed to the brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the big game?  Kick off will be at 6:30EST per usual but we’re waiting to hear about more game day times. Not in town for the game- you can watch on CBS!

Laurel and Garrett touch down on Wednesday, so be sure to follow them and all things Super Bowl on Hype’s Instagram and Facebook over the next week leading up to the big game!!
