TILLMAN’S WORLD SPEED RECORD ATTEMPT

What do you get when you mix a skateboarding dog and the launch of GIGABLAST high-speed Internet? A Guinness Book Record break attempt of course! Over the last few months, in and around the Phoenix area our GIG Gang Brand Ambassadors have been promoting the launch of their 1 GIG Internet. Hype Brand Ambassadors have been sending the message that “Cox Will Get You There Faster” by offering free light rail rides, free espresso shots, and free pedicab rides all over town!

Since it has been “All About the Speed” at Cox these days, we invited Tillman, the famous skateboarding dog, to AZ to showcase his talents and attempt to break a new SPEED record on January 31st at the Scottsdale Fan Fest as a way to generate buzz and excitement for Cox’s GIGABLAST and be part of our 100 Days of Speed!

Along with the attempt, Cox Arizona, donated $100 to the Pat Tillman Foundation for every meter that Tillman skateboarded!  The English bulldog, who was named after Pat Tillman the former NFL professional football player and U.S. Army Ranger, began skateboarding when he was only 10 weeks old. He learned by watching a skateboarding Rottweiler named Stoli, also owned by Tillman’s owner, Ron Davis. At nine months old, Tillman was on all fours skating. In addition to skateboarding, Tillman loves to surf and snowboard! Most recently (January 2015), Tillman was named CW’s Hot Dog.

Unfortunately, Tillman did not break the speed record this time but word around the dog park is he will be back to redeem his title!!!
