Talent Tip Tuesday: Travel Tips for Super Bowl 51

Are you Houston bound for Super Bowl 51? Check out some tips our Super Bowl savvy girl, Laurel, put together for this week’s Talent Tip Tuesday!

AIRPORT NAVIGATION:

Whether you are arriving at George Bush Airport (IAH) or William P. Hobby (HOU), you shouldn’t have a problem ordering a TAXI or UBER! However, if you are arriving at Hobby Airport, they only allow pick ups in the “drop off” area of departures or Zone 4.

**UBER is the way to go in order to get you where you need to go as LYFT is not an option in Houston 😉

TRANSIT:

Locals say that it’s hard to get around unless you have a car. TAXIS and UBERS are suggested, but beware of special event surcharges and traffic extending ride time.  Some street closures will be in effect starting Jan 19 and more so Jan 26 – Feb 6th.

Other options include the METRO bus & rail and Greenlink.  The METRO has extended hours and increased frequency during the hustle and bustle of Super Bowl Festivities Sat, Jan 28 – Sun, Feb 5.

WEATHER:

Temps range from mid 40’s to high 60’s for the months of January and February.  For some of you that may be freezing and others, that’s a decent vacation.  Always come prepared with layers for whatever Mother Nature throws our way.  It can be sunny and 75 one day, and 30 the next!

FAN FUN:

If you’re in town checking out Super Bowl Live and find yourself curious of what else there is to do in Houston, grab yourself a CityPASS and explore the city’s zoos, aquariums, museums, the infamous Space Center, and more!  You could also grab some delicious grub while out and about.  Whether it is Southern comfort food, classic BBQ, or the ‘oh so fitting’ Tex-Mex you will find something that tickles your fancy.
