The HYPE EC would like to take this opportunity to welcome three new members to out team. We would like all of you to get to know them, so we asked them to answer three questions.

Our first new team member is Angela. Angela is a happy, bold, and optimistic young lady. Her favorite part about HYPE thus far is that there is always something new going on in her day and she is always meeting new and interesting people on the phone. Her favorite quote is by Coco Chanel, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
The second new team member is Lee. Lee is honest, driven, and genuine. His favorite part of HYPE so far is the ability to work independently while on a team, and since it is such a fun atmosphere the weeks seem to FLY by! Lee’s favorite quote is by Steve Prefontaine, “To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift.”
The third new team member is Michelle. Michelle is vibrant, enthusiastic, and driven. Her favorite part of HYPE is the variety of work and the staff! Michelle’s favorite quote is by Twyla Tharp, “Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.”

Employee Spotlight: ATARA OVEN
In 2013, we are highlighting our all-star employees so when you call us you can get a better idea of who’s who at Hype! This month we want to introduce, Atara Oven. She has been with us for about 3 years now and has quickly moved up in the “ranks” here at Hype. The founders of the company knew there was something special in her when she delivered her resume printed on a CAKE!! That’s right, a delicious frosted cake- that out of the box thinking is what we love about her! Ask her about it next time you talk to her.
In June of 2012, Atara was promoted to Account Supervisor. She was the first ever person in this role and we were so excited to create this position for her. Her primary role is to oversee the Account Managers and Account Coordinators in both our East Coast and West Coast office by managing their work loads, working with them to trouble shoot problems, and train new staff on new procedures. She reports direct to the founders of the company and is always there to lend a helping hand or new idea/way of doing things!

What is the greatest thing about Hype culture?
The open door policy. Everyone’s ideas are welcomed.
What drives you? What are you inspired by?
Problem solving. Puzzles and challenges; I love figuring out how to make the impossible possible.
I am inspired by strong women in the workforce. They are proof that you are able to have a full-time career and a family without either being compromised.
What was your greatest accomplishment of the past year?
Becoming an Account Supervisor at my age. Proving to myself and others that age is just a number.
What are your passions/interests outside of the workplace?

It is with great pleasure that we get to announce our very own Katie Bisson’s recent promotion to Assistant Account Manager.
Katie started with us as an intern last summer and we knew then that we wanted to add her “permanently” to the Hype Family. Thankfully she felt the same and she came back to us after graduation as an Account Coordinator. She was hired in January of 2011. She has been moving fast since she started with us full time and we are so excited to see her take on even more responsibility as an Assistant Account Manager. She will have the primary responsibility of managing and overseeing her assigned programs while still learning from and assisting her Account Manager and Supervisor. Katie has always been able to take on multiple “hats” and adapts well to the ever-changing world of events and promotions. We look forward to seeing her excel in this new role!

Hype is busy at work not only getting events staffed, but also giving back to the community. If you have been following us on Facebook or Twitter you will notice hype jumped on the bandwagon and has been actively participating in the #26acts campaign. We have been out in the community distributing holiday cheer on both the West and East coast! Below are a list of a few acts we have done in our local communities, and we encourage everyone to keep the spirit of giving alive!

- Gift cards to holiday shoppers and members of the community
- send flowers to a teacher
This idea was sparked by NBC encouraging everyone to give back and make a difference in honor of the 26 individuals killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. We will continue to give back and you can follow all the individuals involved in this campaign by visiting #26acts on Twitter.

I wanted to inform everyone about our newest member to the HYPE WEST COAST office. We have a new HYPETTE Kim! Below is a little bio about our newest team member!
Kim was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area with a sports enthusiast family. Sports quickly became a passion of hers, and when she is not working in the HYPE office you can find her as a spectator for some of her favorite sports teams. Her sports passion turned into an interest in a career about sporting events and behind the scenes. This passion and desire to learn more led her to major in Parks, Recreation and Management with a concentration in Special Events and Sports Management at Cal Poly. After obtaining a degree she followed her passion and worked in the events industry managing weddings, golf tournaments and holiday parties. Now she staffs events for HYPE. Kim states, “I love that no two events are the same.”

Case Study: Land O’ Lake’s Tour wanted to bring Land O’Lakes Grilled Cheese Sandwiches to Spring Training CampsFlorida and increase sales amongst competitors at the deli counter.
Program Overview: The Land O’ Lakes tour hit targeted Spring Training Baseball games in Florida to spread the word about Land O Lakes cheese & butter and sample Land O’Lakes grilled cheese sandwiches. The goal was t0 generate buzz and excitement about Lathe brand.
Staffing/Execution Strategy: Hype not only staffed the program, we also researched, procured, and managed the mobile tour vehicle lease and wrap, promotional materials such as tents and signage, contracted all sponsorship activity at the baseball stadiums, and handled all food permits and licensing needed. The Hype talent chosen for this program were all experienced in the food industry and were well-trained in sampling.
Where: Spring Training games in Florida markets
The Result: Overwhelming response to the Land O Lakes products increasing visibility among consumers. Over 20,000 samples tasted and loved!

2011 is officially here! The beginning of a new year is about reflecting on the past and where you have been, as well as looking forward to the coming year. A new year means a little champagne, a fresh start, and of course naturally we think about the changes we want to make in our lives. Hence, it’s time for New Year’s Resolutions!
Now, the thing about New Year’s Resolutions – they tend to fade away about mid February. So, we have put together a few tips & tricks to ensure your resolution(s) have staying power…
1.) Write it down. Never underestimate the power of writing down your thoughts, dreams, and goals. Seeing ideas on paper really helps to solidify them in your mind. Keep your list in your purse or wallet and take it with you or keep it in a safe place for reference.
2.) Make a plan. How and when will you accomplish your resolution(s)? Even if it means breaking them up into smaller, more manageable tasks. Set a timeline in which you will accomplish your goals
3.) Check in regularly. Take out your written list – read it over every few months and check in…have you been following through with your intentions?
